Welcome to the Summa Cum Laude Information and Learning Resource Centre in Ekol-Muebah-Nninong, Bangem Sub Division! We’re delighted to open our doors to the world, thanks to the generosity of the Ndameton Family and the Ephraim Abwe Diabe Platforms of Excellence (EAD-PFE). Our center is a labor of love, born from a deep desire to foster sustainable peace and social harmony in our beautiful corner of Cameroon and beyond.
Nestled in the serene hills that lower gently into the archetypal Muanenguba Bowl and Twin lakes in Bangem Sub Division, the Centre has a story to tell. Once touched by the Cameroon Anglophone Crisis, our community faced challenges that disrupted daily life, including the education of our young ones. But we are resilient! Since 2019, with improved security and the gradual return of our displaced brothers and sisters, life is blossoming once more.
Our Information and Learning Resources Centre is more than just a building—it's a symbol of hope, unity, growth, and multi-dimensional prosperity. It’s where ideas are nurtured, shared; cultures celebrated, and bridges built —literally and figuratively. So, whether you are in vicinity of Muebah-Nninong in Bangem or thousands of miles away, we welcome you with open arms and warm hearts.
With the support of His Royal Highness, the Kiong-Mbaah of Nninong and Administrative Authorities, we aim to showcase the vibrant cultural diversity and rich touristic potential of Muebah-Nninong, and Bangem Sub Division as a whole. Men, women, boys and girls from all over the world, come explore, learn, and grow with us in this sanctuary of knowledge and peace. Let’s make the world a better place—one story, one lesson, and one smile at a time.
The Centre shall be guided by its six strategic priorities:
Scaling up the culture of innovation, reading, and writing as essential entry points to academic excellence within the Kupe Muanenguba Division and beyond.
High-quality, evidence-based research that minimizes irrelevant and unscientific results, thereby promoting effective, ethical, and impactful research outcomes.
Increasing individuals and organizations abilities to successfully apply their skills and resources toward the accomplishment of their goals.
Providing avenues for learning and exchanges in various fields: Science, social cohesion, governance and human rights concepts and issues.
Facilitating distant studies through multimedia products like videos and animations, thereby expanding access to quality education and learning resources.
Making information more accessible to readers and learners through printed materials while considering Accuracy, Clarity and Completeness
We are priviledged to have very passionate, result-oriented and dynamic professionals who understand and strive to meet our altruistic goals.
“The establishment of the Centre in Muebah and Nninong marks a transformative opportunity for the community. It will foster a strong culture of reading and writing, encouraging intellectual growth and creativity among all age groups. By providing access to diverse resources and learning opportunities, the Centre will connect the community with global perspectives, broadening their horizons and enabling them to engage with the world in meaningful ways. Additionally, the Centre will play a pivotal role in enhancing self-employment skills among the youth across various fields, equipping them with the knowledge and practical abilities needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive world. Through targeted training programs, workshops, and mentorship, the Centre is set to empower young people to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, create job opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic and cultural development of their community, fostering a generation of self-reliant skilled, and innovative individuals. And as Kiong-Mbah, I am eager to see this Centre well positioned to articulate the rich socio-cultural ecosystem that makes Nninong the Ancestral clan of Mwane-Ngoe!
Nlente Nyeh! It is my delight and, I consider it a singular pleasure, to Witness the birthing of so glorious an achievement in my beloved village Muebah-Nninong. As a legal mind, I know that information and learning are sacrosanct value added to every forward-looking society. For Muebah-Nninong and Bangem as a whole, this brilliant initiative sets the pace for multi-dimensional transformation in a Kupe Mwanenguba of the future. As son of the Late Sango Ferdinand Sone Ajang (the Boy)- an ace and accomplished educationist whose dying wish was the intellectual transformation of His native Muebah, I am so honoured to be associated with so ebulient an initiative as the Summa Cum Laude Information and Learning Resource Centre in Ekol-Muebah-Nninong Bangem. And as Chair of the Steering Committee for Formal Innauguration of the Centre in December 2024, I Say " Epe Bwam" to all our dinstinguished guests.
One of the highly-rated American leaders, arguably among the most consequential political figures the modern world knows (Barack Obama) onc vae pointed out that a life filled with opportunity is best lived as a blessing to others, especially those who might not have had the same breaks in life. Well, that school of thought is mirrored in our stance on service to the community- a truly unyeilding leitmotiv . The creation of the Summa Cum Laude Information and Learning Resource Centre in our hometown of Ekol-Muebah-Nninong Bangem Sub Division is also a way of saying, “Oga President, we hear you!”
We have been around the world, dipped our toes in some of the finest pools of knowledge and information, and seen up close just how much learning can change lives—especially in this whirlwind of a world we all live in. My wife and all-time partner, Mrs. Abwe Diabe, and I are beyond grateful to the Almighty God for the chance to lead this endearing initiative. And a big shoutout to our Ndameton family in Muebah-Nninong and our ancestors for their unwavering support all the way.
Let’s not forget to tip our hats to Dr. Nhon Peter Bweh Esembeson, our dad (and father-in-law). He's a retired but still sharp-as-a-tack educationist who’s been our go-to guru for technical advice and moral support throughout this journey. The Summa Cum Laude Centre is all about giving the young folks a leg up—helping them tap into their hidden talents and help mould them into awesome change-makers for themselves and their communities.
We're also pretty chuffed about our partnerships with top-notch institutions, like universities in Cameroon and beyond, bringing in cutting-edge support in learning, research, and innovation. As we gear up for the big official launch in December 2024 in Ekol-Muebah-Nninong, we’ve already kickstarted some incredible preliminary actions. For instance, the Ephraim Abwe Diabe Platforms of Excellence (EAD-PFE) and the Cameroon Centre for Peace Research and Initiative (CAMPEACI) recently ran a two-month learning and skills development program for fresh primary school graduates as dress-rehearsal for life in secondary school next September.
Looking ahead, we're partnering with the University of Buea and the Divisional Delegation for Secondary Education KMD to deliver a foundational workshop on managing information and learning resources this November. It’s set to train 45 library focal points (most of them trained teachers) from secondary schools in the Division, with the aim of sparking “Reading and Innovation” hubs when they return to their schools.
We couldn’t be more excited to welcome this new gem into the daily life of our peaceful Ekol-Muebah-Nninong!
Cheers,
.
The Muebah community is about to hit a major milestone with the grand opening of our new Information and Learning Resource Centre in Ekol-Muebah on December 22, 2024. This amazing Centre is a fantastic gift from the Ndameton Family, in partnership with the Ephraim Abwe Diabe Platforms of Excellence (EAD-EFE), and it’s set to be a total game-changer for us.
We’ve had our fair share of challenges, especially with the ongoing Anglophone Crisis. But guess what? This Centre is like a giant ray of sunshine for our community. Even before its official launch, the place has been buzzing with activity. We’ve celebrated the International Day of the Child there, trained more than two cohorts of tourist guides, and in October, we’re hosting a workshop on library science for focal persons from 45 schools in Kupe Muanenguba. It’s been so busy, I think the Centre itself might need a vacation soon!
This Centre isn’t just about books and learning; it’s about giving our youth the tools they need to thrive. We’re talking about top-notch training in information technology, computer science, and online marketing. Imagine kids from poor communities getting the chance to interact with the international business world right from their own homes. We’re basically turning them into financial wizards without the need for any magic wands.
And don’t get me started on the tourist potential of our beautiful Muaneguba plains and lakes. This Centre is going to help us unlock all that, bringing in more visitors and boosting our local economy. Plus, it’s a perfect venue for community dialogues, reconciliation, and peacebuilding. Basically, it’s going to be the heart and soul of our community’s healing and unity.
Huge shoutout to the Ndameton Family and EAD-EFE for making this dream a reality. Their dedication to our community is absolutely inspiring. With their continued support, the Information and Learning Resource Centre is set to be the cornerstone of positive change, development, and well-being for everyone in Muebah. This Centre is more than just a building; it’s a symbol of our resilience, hope, and a brighter future. We’re ready to rock and roll!
It was amazing to see the joy and satisfaction in the young Cameroonians within the Ninong clan of the Bakossi Tribe in Kupe Muanenguba Division of the South West Region in Cameroon as I was privileged to teach them moral education and the ways of the Lord. The kids will leave to tell the beautiful story as they were privileged to be the first beneficiaries of such enriching center. I saw kids sitting on quality chairs having access to books of every kind, having access to desktops, writing materials, professional course facilitators, prizes given, take home packages which were served at the end of their two months training as a motivation for parents to send children to school should they complain of financial setbacks. I'm thrilled to invite anyone around the globe to come experience a beautiful and calm place for learning and research in the Ekol-Muebah-Nninong Information and Learning Resource Centre. Words can't define and emphasis the vital role of this Center to the Nninong youths and the Cameroonian youths in general. Credit for this go to the Ndameton Family and the EAD-PFE and particularly Dr. Ephraim Abwe Diabe for this masterpiece collection to improve society, change mindset and expose to the whole world the intelligence found here in Muebah the headquarters of Nninong.
I personally believe the Centre will go a long way to improved the learning of children as well as help them avoid unnecessary hangouts. If the Centre can continue with the capacity building program during the short term breaks, it will definitely ameliorate the academic performance of youths in the locality. Also, the provision of scholarship by the founders to meritorious pupils and students will be a great motivation. I suggest the community be enlighten on the the importance of the center, so as to obtain the best outcome.
